tincture of the century: reishi

When I say I'm into mushrooms, your mind probably goes to one of two places:

  1. “Have a nice trip, dude!” (or “I had a bad trip and never touched those again… dude.”)

  2. Warm memories of foraging with a family member or friend.

But there's a third path.

Not psychedelic, nor culinary, but something a bit deeper and often overlooked here in the U.S.: medicinal.

After my some traumatic health issues last winter, I turned to the power of nature with desperation and devotion. The grief cracked me in half, and the intelligence of plants, animals, and herbs poured in.

But nothing rearranged me quite like mushrooms.

When I am standing in the presence of wild fungi, I feel awake and alive. Learning about the hidden mycelial intelligence sort of turned my world upside down for a while. And now that wisdom is really integrating.

Among them all, one mushroom has become my teacher: Reishi.

Here in Illinois, I typically find Ganoderma curtisii and Ganoderma sessile. And every time I find one, I feel a direct connection to my inner child and the future I am becoming meet.

The real magic of plant medicine, I've discovered, is not in the bottle. The real magic is in the relationship.

When you harvest, prepare and listen, you know exactly where it comes from and why it's appearing in your life.

I can't say I know why Reishi chose me, but I know this: it has changed me in body, mind, and spirit.

So let me ask you this:

- Has Reishi crossed your path?
- Is it walking with you now?
- Or is it waiting for you in the future?

If the answer is yes, then you have two ways to step forward:

  1. Research what Reishi species grow near you. Read books (I have some recs), cross-reference apps like ‘Seek’, and train your eye to see what others pass by.

  2. Begin a trial relationship with mine. My Reishi Magic tincture is a double extraction that captures both the alcohol-soluble and water-soluble properties of the mushroom.

Reishi has guided me into my next evolution as an artist, guide, and human being.

Now I'm offering the same to you.
